Emily Kwong
PRESIDENT/MUSIC EDITOR
Emily is a classical musician, music editor and the owner of Papercranes Music. She studied clarinet at USC and Cal Arts with a focus on modern music and she has a keenly sensitive ear, fast fingers and impressive breath control. In college she took to orchestration, and that, along with her love of puzzles, made the perfect base for the craft of music editing. She created Papercranes in 2016 after a decade as a freelance music editor. To everyone’s benefit, she recently acquired an alto saxophone. Mostly, though, Emily loves the ring-out into silence after a live symphonic performance and would live in that space eternally, if it were possible.
Jeff Kwong
Music Editor
A childhood spent endlessly in front of the TV prepared Jeff for either a career in entertainment or a lifetime of chronic unemployment. Fortunately, as an adolescent he discovered punk rock and applied the movement's DIY ethos and dismissive superiority complex towards playing in bands and writing bigger and better music than everyone from ABBA to Zeppelin. His encyclopedic knowledge of TV theme songs of the 80s and 90s would make Ken Jennings blush, and I have it on good authority that he plays the theme to Doogie Howser, MD on any piano he comes across.
